RDTs are solid dosage forms designed to dissolve quickly in the mouth without water. They are particularly beneficial for pediatric, geriatric, and veterinary patients who may have difficulty swallowing traditional tablets or capsules.

Determine the desired strength and quantity of tablets to be prepared.

Blend the active ingredients with the selected excipients in accordance with the formulation specifications. Thorough and uniform mixing is critical to ensure consistent distribution of components, maintain the integrity and durability of the rapidly disintegrating tablet (RDT), and support its intended fast disintegration performance.

Distribute the prepared blend across the mold surface and use a spatula or similar tool to work the material into each cavity. Apply firm, even strokes to ensure the cavities are completely filled and packed, minimizing air gaps and promoting uniform tablet weight, shape, and mechanical integrity.

TICKERWORKS molds are designed to facilitate efficient cavity filling and excess material removal, helping produce RDTs with consistent dimensions, appearance, and durability.

After the cavities have been filled, use the appropriate TICKERWORKS Tamper to compress the formulation within the mold. The tamper is designed to apply uniform compression across all cavities.

Depending on the formulation requirements, the compressed tablets may then be dried, baked, or cured to achieve the desired hardness, structural stability, and rapid disintegration profile.

After the tablets have reached the appropriate consistency, remove them from the mold and inspect for quality and uniformity.
